Words that one may just hang on to.

"Too much ink is drawn to describe and define love. Why describe it and define it? Take my hand and let's just take a ride through it. Love is... Love is... Let's just go for awhile; leaving ourselves for each other."
~Mike Smith

So it would seems

So it would seems that most of us are deciding that blogging is just a bit more than fussy, with all the social networks available, and daily status and thoughts updating through those network. Its understood that which is more convenient.

Still, it'd be nice to see what everyone has been doing with their lives.

I'll just try to come up with something and post them here every now and then.

A repetition of our Taekwondo Black Belt Exam.

preparing for further instruction.
it's a turning kick.
It had been awhile since I stopped my Taekwondo training around the year 2005.
About a year ago, a Taekwondo gym opened near where I lived and along with a friend, we joined the club.

It had been a year since then, and on the 5th September, we got to repeat our Black Belt exam as the previous one does not count as a valid certificate.

Ironically, we get to use our Black Belt while we take an exam to obtain a Black Belt.

The grading test begins at 1pm, but our grading session is the last, which is after all the junior belts had their exam.

Although some of our moves are nowhere near perfection, we managed to do what we can.

The test consist of some of the Poomse (pattern), basic kicking, footwork, combination kicking, target kicking, advance jump-kicking, self-defense moves, non-contact sparring, 4-direction breaking (planks), and lastly tile breaking.

Here's a video of tile breaking.

If we succeed in the grading attempt, we get to apply for a Malaysia Certificate for the Black Belt, and after that a Kukkiwon (Korea) Certificate as well.

I love this hobby:D

Borneo Highland Trip-29 August 2010

by the lily pool
unsuccessful panorama shot, but basically its like this:D

A trip to Borneo Highland purported by Shindow,6 of us and lotsa familiar faces we met.

It was dark when we reached the top and Heavy rain followed after, temperature drops and it was really chilly.

We had a fun ride to the top, get to have 1st close contact with a horse for most of us, played Chinese chess at the tea house and had fermented-bold PuEr tea while waiting for the rain to stop...
Taken pictures with vivid-full bloomed flowers.
Gets Beat by unforgiving rain...
The "Sakura" tree was claimed to be blooming near the Kalimantan borders but we didn't managed to join the Highland Tour(RM20).

As the rain continues its sequel by the late afternoon, we spend another hours+ at the tea house again, this time they guys played some MahJong, sipped some light-fragrant Oolong tea, there's also a Chinese music instrument show all the while.
The stream heading downhill was very rapid after the rain and we can hear the rush of waters while there.

The downhill trip was around after 3pm, and it's probably by the coolest temperatures of the day.

Beaten by rain and frigid winds, lack of serious fun...but, I sure had as much fun as I can where and while I can.
Hope the rest thinks so too^_^

A Dream Within A Dream

Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow-
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.

I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand-
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep- while I weep!
O God! can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?

Power.力。

Power, another ability or traits that everyone seeks in life.
it matters not if its the power to go through life, or simply the power to do something of interest.

Such are the powers that can be obtain by learning or practicing them in the course of life itself.Seeking to improve ourselves for the future and present can also be seen as a way that we're seeking power.

Power, an ability, a skill, there is definitely resemblance amongst them.

What is the power that you seek? And what is the power you already have?

Greens after downpours

Downpours...rains...
Some times you can hear people say how much they hate the rain.
And some times you can hear people say how nice it would be to sleep during rainy days.
And how the heavy rains make it difficult to drive...

Anyway, have you ever look around you when the rain stopped?
I'm not saying about what kinda dirt it brought onto your car, how soggy the road is, twigs on the road, nor how full the drains are...

What i'm talking about here is the trees, the trees they planted on the side of the road, after the rain the leaves are in a better hues of greens that you won't be able to see during a sunny day, i'm not really sure but whenever i take my time to look at them, it makes me feels lively, and how fresh the air can be if you're not in a heavy traffic.

Why don't you try looking at the trees after a rain?

A song, a time capsule

I believe everyone has song, or songs that they misses every now and then.
Maybe a song you heard when you're younger...
Or something from a movie...

I, of course have a few of the 'many' songs that I still listen to until this very day.

One of these is "Konya Tsuki no Mieru Oka Ni" by B'z.
And its the ending theme from this Japanese drama series called "Beautiful Life".
Where the leading actress died in the end, I remember I would stayed up till late nite during one of my 1st two years in secondary school to watch the "Babylon 5" series and this drama, it will be 12.45am by then when the drama starts:S

This is one of mine, what's yours?

Loveless...

Loveless is a larger-than-life play in the game Final Fantasy VII compilation, here is the poems that is finally revealed in the Crisis Core of the game...

I've attached a video as well, try listening to it.

Prologue
When the war of the beasts brings about the world’s end
The goddess descends from the sky
Wings of light and dark spread afar
She guides us to bliss, her gift everlasting

Act I
Infinite in mystery is the gift of the goddess
We seek it thus, and take to the sky
Ripples form on the water’s surface
The wandering soul knows no rest.

Act II
There is no hate, only joy
For you are beloved by the goddess
Hero of the dawn, Healer of worlds

Dreams of the morrow hath the shattered soul
Pride is lost
Wings stripped away, the end is nigh

Act III
My friend, do you fly away now?
To a world that abhors you and I?
All that awaits you is a somber morrow
No matter where the winds may blow

My friend, your desire
Is the bringer of life, the gift of the goddess

Even if the morrow is barren of promises
Nothing shall forestall my return

Act IV
My friend, the fates are cruel
There are no dreams, no honor remains
The arrow has left the bow of the goddess

My soul, corrupted by vengeance
Hath endured torment, to find the end of the journey
In my own salvation
And your eternal slumber

Legend shall speak
Of sacrifice at world’s end
The wind sails over the water’s surface
Quietly, but surely

Act V
Even if the morrow is barren of promises
Nothing shall forestall my return
To become the dew that quenches the land
To spare the sands, the seas, the skies
I offer thee this silent sacrifice

If

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or, being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with triumph and disaster
And treat those two imposters just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with wornout tools;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on";

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch;
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run -
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son!

Poem: Invictus

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

William Ernest Henley

What sayeth thee?

Ozymandias

    by Percy Bysshe Shelley

I met a traveler from an antique land
Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed;
And on the pedestal these words appear:
“My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look upon my works, ye Mighty, and despair!”
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

Swimming & awareness

Swimming is a passion, and I belonged in that group, but it is an acquired taste in the options available under the 'passion' section of lifestyle, as not all agrees its a fun thing to do.

It is considered dangerous by some, as cases of death by/in the water is not uncommon all over the world.

And there are people who claims they can't swim, some of them never bother to learn, while the rest may have reasons of much more complexity.

I would like to share with you on some views of mine, as i usually goes to the swimming pool alone, and i may not be under the supervision of lifeguards when i do so.

It is important that one be of utmost vigilance when they go swimming, be it a pool, river, sea, or any body of water.
The risk that you have to take need to be weighed as incident unfavorable may occurs.

First and foremost, decide and understand how well and how long can you swim, this will really decrease the danger of getting drowned and you can avoid getting into one.

If you can't swim well, do NOT venture into deep waters.
Do NOT play in water that you do not know well of the depth, this is especially notable when swimming out in natural bodies of water.(waterfalls, river, lake, etc)
Stay clear of the deep end of the swimming pool when you go to one, until you're able to swim better.

Many are the people who never bother doing any warm ups before they go into the water, no matter you're going into the water for fun or a serious swim, DO some stretching to your muscles, cramps can be avoided in most case simply by doing this.
You DON'T have to do a complete stretching course like a pro, but a moderate stretch to the exercised part of your body will suffice in helping.

Lastly, a few more things that might help in knowing...
Please DON'T panic and start struggling and throwing your hands and legs around if you're drowning, calm yourself down as the water may not be too deep for you to land your feet on the bottom(that is why it's important to know the depth of the water you're in) and kicked yourself up to the surface to breath, do this...and edge yourself to the side of the water, or somewhere more shallow, call for help if your head can stay above the water longer.
When someone tries to rescue you, DON'T struggle either, in many cases the rescuers are choked and cling by the drowned and both end up not being saved.
Throw a life-ring/something that floats to someone that's drowned instead of jumping into the water to save them, and leave the rescue to a lifeguard or someone with a license in lifesaving to avoid further incidents whenever possible

With all these you may think that swimming is something that's best avoided, but if you would just be a bit more careful, it is not.
Most fun have risk, but being able to handle the commons can help preventing it, don't you think?

I hope I didn't miss out anything important...

Quoting the people...

I've collected some quotes that l liked since awhile back.
some of them, i understand, some of them, well i just don't know what the hell it's about:D

I'm old enough to know better, but still too young to care. -anonymous

If you think that something small cannot make a difference - try going to sleep with a mosquito in the room. -anon.

It is only when we truly know and understand that we have a limited time on earth and that we have no way of knowing when our time is up that we will begin to live each day to the fullest, as if it were the only one we had.-Elizabeth Kubler-Ross

(i'm a few hundred year late?yea, i've thought of this, but we're never the 1st:D)

I think we consider too much the good luck of the early bird and not enough the bad luck of the early worm.-Theodore Roosevelt
(paradox-ical, there's a different light to everything.This isn't math we're talking about, nor computer language.basic numbers:S)

To thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the night the day, thou canst not then be false to any man.-William Shakespeare

Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.-Albert Einstein

Reminiscing

:D

the whole lot!

Trying to think back on the little years of ago that we've been spending carefreely...
its actually been exactly 5 years since we graduated from Secondary.

keep taking pictures.

keep it rolling!

Thinking back, the 5 years before graduation from Secondary, and the 5 years after graduation.

take pictures with sepia effect.
Things, sure has taken to all the changes that neither of us could have ever imagined, at least i couldn't have imagine what i would have been doing by now.
Back then, all i do is sleep away during the lessons.

Hm, i sorta regret it that i never 'escape' from school...
figure it would have been fun that way.

drink till drop?

All that has happened in our school days, some of them, have surely been summoned back by our dear friends and haunt us every now and then.
There are dumb stuff, not so dumb stuff, and maybe some smart stuff, all had became memories of the days that passed.

the magical pointing

5 years from there, and another 5 years from now, we still won't be able to foresee as many things as we'd like to, BUT I DO BELIEVE, WE SHOULD DO ANY MANY THING AS WE CAN, eh?
so random...

like the saying, To be or not to be, that is the question...

Good night fools:D

A new page.A new year.

Happy new year 2010.

A new page begins in the time of current civilization, a new year for our Earth...

We make resolutions, welcome in the new year, and send away the old.

In just a brief second, yester-year had became LAST year.
Actually I don't really know what to say about the welcoming thingy, but just wanted to wrote something for the new year.

Let's see, we have nice fireworks, we were basically 'surrounded' by the fireworks in all directions.

There's that full moon up in the sky, which actually occurred twice in 31 December 2009, a blue moon they call it.

New year, that sounds great, a pinch of sentiments maybe, but for something that becomes new every 365 days, there's that long 'wait' for it, a long living to make it comes:D
